I hear twice a day the comment or question about drinking ketone ester or exogenous ketones and how it "puts you in ketosis". I disagree and find this statement incorrect and misleading. It does not make the body burn fat. Real ketosis is eating a ketogenic diet and starving your body of carbs so the body turns to burn your fat to make an emergency fuel, ketones. Others define ketosis as ketones in your blood. So this means you could eat cake and drink ketone ester to "get back into ketosis". And with that they make the leap that somehow it erases cake and you start burning fat. This is untrue. Hope this helps. Frank Exogenous ketosis vs endogenous ketosis.
