VKE FOR GOLF

It’s more fun when you
suck less.

Focus. Feel. Flow.

Play to your handicap. Then beat it. Clear, calm, alert focus over the ball. Soft hands around the greens. No back-nine slump. Veech Ketone Ester won't fix your swing — it helps you play the golf you're already capable of, all eighteen.

That's why we say two strokes off your game — money-back guaranteed.

WHAT VKE CAN CHANGE FOR A GOLFER

Same swing.
Better round.

FOCUSQuiet mind,
clear read

Clear, calm, alert focus that holds from the first tee to the eighteenth green — not the jittery kind.

In athletes, VKE preserved decision-making when fatigue would normally start taking it away. The science →

FEELSoft hands,
full turn

Touch around the greens and a freer backswing are the two things golfers tell us about first.

Reports from players, not trial results. What they say →

FLOWNo back-nine
slump

Steady fuel from the turn through the last putt, and recovery for tomorrow's tee time.

Skip the hot dog. Drink VKE at the turn instead →

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE

From the tee box to the bottom of the cup.

Golf asks the same head to do eight different jobs in four hours.
Here's where golfers say the difference shows up.

These are reports from golfers and other athletes, not trial results.
The measured stuff is further down →

OFF THE TEE

Commit with confidence.

See the shot, feel the shot, hit the shot. A calm, alert head lets you commit to all three.

APPROACH

Pick a number. Hit the number.

Club selection is judgement, and judgement is the first thing a tired, under-fuelled brain gives up. Pick the number, feel the swing that fits it, and go.

AROUND THE GREENS

Touch.

Chips, pitches and bunker shots are feel shots. Enhanced feel and touch is the first thing most golfers mention — the ball coming off the face the way you pictured it.

ON THE GREEN

Quiet hands, quiet mind.

Read it, roll it. Less noise between the read and the stroke.

THE BACKSWING

A fuller turn is stored power.

Baseball pitchers using VKE have reported extra inches in their windup and higher pitching speeds. Golfers report the same freer turn. Reports from athletes, not trial results.

THE WHOLE ROUND

Even keel.

Steady energy means steadier decisions. Fewer hero shots, fewer clubs thrown, fewer doubles that started as a bad decision rather than a bad swing.

AFTER THE ROUND

Tomorrow's tee time.

Recovery when you're out of game shape, playing 36, or grinding three straight days at the member-guest or tournament.

THE BACK-NINE SLUMP

Skip the hot dog at the turn.

Skip the back-nine slump.

INSTEAD OF THE HOT DOG AND A SODA

Drink VKE at the turn.

It's a fuel, not a meal. Steady energy through the back nine instead of a spike and a slump.

Drink diet soda or water — sugar and glucose can lessen the VKE performance effects you're aiming for.

INSTEAD OF THE BEER

If you think booze helped somehow, try this.

Hard Ketones. Real Buzz. No Booze.

IF YOU HAVE TO EAT SOMETHING

Nuts. Not a carb load.

A low-sugar snack won't undo the round.

A Ke4 bottle in a hot dog bun on the course
DRINK IT
…on the golf course to help with your focus and energy like I did at the US Open qualifier yesterday.

SPEAKING ON BONK BROS, MAY 2025. ONE GOLFER'S EXPERIENCE, NOT A TRIAL RESULT.

WANNA BET?

Two strokes off your game.
Guaranteed.

A money-back guarantee, not a research finding. No golf trial has measured a two-stroke improvement. We're betting our money on yours.

Golf is the sport where a subtle edge shows up on the card. A cyclist may not feel 4 percent. A single-digit handicap feels half a club. The better you are, the more you'll notice.

Already shooting 68? Try it. Follow the protocols over your next few rounds and see if you can shed the two missed shots that keep you up at night. Risk-free. Money-back guaranteed.

Consider the refund your free mulligan. We just ask for one shot at troubleshooting how you're taking it first — timing and use matter with VKE. If it still isn't for you, the refund stands.

HOW THE GUARANTEE WORKS
  1. Follow the protocols below for a few rounds. Notice how you feel, and track your score and number of missed shots or putts if you keep track of that.
  2. Compare to your handicap or your actual typical play.
  3. Don't see an improvement? Text us. We'll help you fix how you take it — or send us your order number and we'll refund you.

CUSTOMER REPORTS. NOT TYPICAL, NOT A TRIAL RESULT.

HOW TO PLAY IT

The golf protocol.
Timing, not dosing.

Amounts live on the protocol page. This is about when — and your first round is deliberately different from every round after it.

TAKE VKEEVERY 6 TO 9 HOLES, ROUGHLY 90 TO 120 MINUTES APART. GO BY THE CLOCK AND BY FEEL, NOT BY THE HOLE NUMBER.
PROTOCOL ONE · YOUR TEST ROUND

Wait until the 4th or 5th hole.

Do this once. You take it late on purpose: play four or five holes on your own steam and you have a baseline for how you're hitting it today. Take it from the first tee instead and you have nothing to compare against — a good front nine just looks like a good front nine.

With a baseline, the difference is something you can actually feel and see on the card.

Experiment first. Try it over a few rounds and find what works for you before you use it in a high-stakes match.

IDEALLY A PRACTICE ROUND. NOT A COMPETITION.

PROTOCOL TWO · AFTER YOU’VE TESTED IT AND KNOW IT WORKS

Start at warmup or the first tee.

Once you know what it does, there's no reason to play four holes without it. Then take it again every 6 to 9 holes — roughly 90 to 120 minutes apart — as focus and energy start to fade.

Go by the clock and by feel, not by the hole number. Slow play will scramble the math.

Don't eat through the round. VKE at the turn instead of the hot dog. Nuts or a low-sugar snack if you need something. Diet soda or water over sugar soda, and no alcohol — if a drink is part of your round, drink our Hard Ketones Real Buzz. No Booze alcohol alternatives instead.

One more after the round. Especially when you're out of game shape, or teeing it up again tomorrow at a member-guest or tournament.

MEASURED IN ATHLETES

What’s actually been measured.

Everything above this line is what golfers tell us. Here's what has actually been measured — and nobody has run a Veech Ketone Ester trial on a golf course yet.

What has been measured is the thing golf runs on: judgement and focus when the body is tired and the day is long. Three human trials, one small EEG study and an imaging paper. Golfers weren't in any of them.

EXTRA MULTITASKING ERRORS AFTER EXHAUSTING EXERCISE

Team-sport athletes taking VKE with carbohydrate made no additional multitasking errors after exhausting intermittent running. With carbohydrate alone, errors rose. Reaction time and sustained attention didn't differ.

QUICKER TASK-SWITCHING · VKE + CAFFEINE

In a mental-fatigue trial, VKE alone primarily prevented the decline placebo showed. With caffeine, task-switching was about a tenth of a second quicker. Reading a putt is a task switch.

RESTING ALPHA RHYTHM UP IN EVERY PARTICIPANT

One hour after a single 25g dose of the ketone monoester, resting alpha rhythm was higher in all ten young adults tested and visual cortical responsiveness rose about 17%. Ten people, no placebo arm — a signal, not a verdict.

STEINWURZEL ET AL. 2025 · EUR J NEUROSCI · DOI 10.1111/ejn.70270

In a separate ultra-endurance study, VKE maintained mental alertness and roughly doubled circulating dopamine across a 60–100km effort. And in a brain-imaging study, a single dose increased the stability of the brain's functional networks — the measure the authors linked to cognitive acuity.

Where we draw the line. “Clear, calm and alert” is what golfers report feeling. It is not what the EEG study proves. That study measured a larger alpha rhythm and greater visual cortical responsiveness in ten people with no placebo arm — it did not measure calm, and it did not measure gamma. What the performance trials show is focus and judgement preserved under fatigue rather than boosted from rest. More in the FAQ.

The research behind the golf page.

None of these were done in golfers. Every one was chosen because it measures something a golfer spends: judgement under fatigue, alertness late in a long day, and recovery when there's another round tomorrow.

After exhausting intermittent exercise: no rise in multitasking errors with VKE; errors rose with carbohydrate alone.

Evans & Egan 2018 · Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise
11 male team-sport athletes · double-blind crossover · PMID 29944604

PROTOCOL  Dublin City University. Eleven male team-sport athletes completed the Loughborough Intermittent Shuttle Test twice: five 15-minute blocks of intermittent running, then a shuttle run to exhaustion. A 6.4% carbohydrate drink was taken before and during, either alone or with 750 mg/kg of the ketone monoester. A cognitive battery ran before and after.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Blood D-BHB reached roughly 1.5–2.6 mM during exercise with the ester.
  • Incorrect responses on a multitasking test rose from pre- to post-exercise with carbohydrate alone (mean +1.8) but not with the ester (0.0); p = 0.017, d = 0.70.
  • Reaction time and sustained attention did not differ between conditions.
  • Sprint times, heart rate, perceived exertion and run time to exhaustion did not differ.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR GOLF

  • The effect was on executive function — juggling more than one thing at once — after the body was tired. That is a club selection on the seventeenth.
  • Not a running-performance result. The authors describe a cognitive benefit, not a physical one.
  • Stop-start activity with a cognitive load is closer to a round of golf than a time trial is.

CONTEXT: Small sample, males only, single acute dose, carbohydrate in both arms. PMID 29944604, doi 10.1249/MSS.0000000000001700 — PubMed

Under mental fatigue: VKE prevented the decline placebo showed; with caffeine, task-switching was ~0.1 sec quicker.

Roca, Barker & Waldman 2026 · Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research
PMID 42429835

PROTOCOL  Participants completed a mental-fatigue protocol under ketone monoester alone, ketone monoester with caffeine, and placebo, with cognitive testing including a task-switching measure.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Task-switching was 97 ms quicker in the monoester-plus-caffeine condition than with placebo.
  • The monoester alone primarily prevented the decline seen with placebo rather than producing a gain from rest.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR GOLF

  • A round is four hours of switching: yardage, wind, lie, line, speed, then a conversation, then the next tee.
  • The accurate read is protection, not enhancement: it kept the head where it started while the placebo group slipped.

CONTEXT: Laboratory mental-fatigue task, not sport. Caffeine was part of the strongest condition. PMID 42429835 — PubMed

One hour after a single dose: resting alpha rhythm higher in all ten participants; visual response 17% larger.

Steinwurzel et al. 2025 · European Journal of Neuroscience
10 healthy adults, 23–34 · pre/post, no placebo · doi 10.1111/ejn.70270

PROTOCOL  University of Pisa. Ten healthy young adults were tested fasted, then given a single oral dose of the ketone monoester containing 25g of D-BHB. Resting-state EEG and visual evoked potentials were recorded before and one hour after; magnetic resonance spectroscopy measured glutamate and GABA in the visual cortex before and about two hours after.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Blood D-BHB rose from about 0.14 mM to about 3.0 mM at one hour.
  • Resting-state alpha amplitude (8–13 Hz) increased in every participant, at occipital, parietal, central and frontal electrodes.
  • Steady-state visual evoked potential amplitude rose about 17% (Cohen's d = 1.04).
  • Occipital glutamate rose about 13%; GABA was unchanged. The glutamate change correlated with the visual response change.

WHAT IT DOES AND DOESN'T SAY

  • The authors interpret the pattern as increased cortical excitability and responsiveness — a brain more ready to respond to input.
  • It does not measure calm, focus or performance, and gamma activity was not reported.
  • Ten people and no placebo arm. Treat it as a signal that warrants a bigger trial.

CONTEXT: Single-arm pre/post design in young adults. Eur J Neurosci 2025;62:e70270, doi 10.1111/ejn.70270 — Publisher

Across a 60–100km ultra: mental alertness maintained and circulating dopamine roughly doubled.

Poffé et al. 2023 · Journal of Applied Physiology
Ultra-running, not golf · PMID 37141424

PROTOCOL  KU Leuven. Ultra-runners completed a 60–100km event with ketone monoester or control, with alertness and circulating dopamine measured across the effort.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Circulating dopamine roughly doubled with the ester.
  • Mental alertness was maintained where it declined in control.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR GOLF

  • The relevant variable is time on your feet with a job to do, not distance. A tournament day at a walking club is five hours.
  • Alertness late in the effort is the back-nine question in another sport's clothing.

CONTEXT: Ultra-endurance runners. Extrapolation to a walking round is ours, not the authors'. PMID 37141424 — PubMed

Brain imaging after a single dose: functional network stability increased.

Mujica-Parodi et al. 2020 · PNAS
Healthy young adults · PMID 32127481

PROTOCOL  Stony Brook. Healthy adults were scanned with functional MRI in a glucose state and after a ketone monoester bolus, with network stability computed from the scans.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Network stability was higher after the ketone bolus than after glucose.
  • The authors treat network stability as a biomarker linked to cognitive acuity and to brain aging.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR GOLF

  • It is the mechanistic picture behind “the head stays put”: less drift between brain regions on ketone fuel.
  • Imaging, not performance. It explains; it doesn't score.

CONTEXT: The exact percentage change is under review by our science team and is deliberately not quoted here. PMID 32127481 — PubMed

After a hard training day: ~90% of the extra night wakefulness was reversed, and REM was protected.

Robberechts et al. 2023 · Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise
Endurance athletes, not golfers · PMID 37259248

PROTOCOL  KU Leuven. Athletes completed a strenuous training day with ketone monoester or placebo taken after training and before sleep, with sleep measured overnight.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Sleep efficiency improved with the ester.
  • The decline in REM sleep after strenuous exercise was counteracted.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR GOLF

  • This is the “one more after the round” step. Thirty-six holes, or three tournament days, is a training load whether you call it one or not.
  • Sleep is where tomorrow's feel comes from.

CONTEXT: Endurance athletes after a deliberately hard day. PMID 37259248 — PubMed · Sleep after training →

QUESTIONS

Ketones and golf

How do I stay focused for 18 holes?

Focus late in a round is mostly a fuel and fatigue problem, not a willpower problem. The things that help: eat a real meal before you play rather than at the turn, keep sugar out of the round, stay hydrated, and give yourself a pre-shot routine short enough that you'll still run it on seventeen.

Veech Ketone Ester is the fuel part. It's a food that delivers D-BHB directly, and in human trials it preserved executive function and task-switching after the body was tired — exactly the window where golfers start making worse decisions. Most golfers take it at warmup and then every 6 to 9 holes as focus starts to fade.

THE GOLF PROTOCOL

How do I avoid the back-nine slump?

Stop eating a meal at the turn. That's the single biggest lever for most golfers. The post-meal slump lands about an hour later, which is holes eleven through fourteen.

Instead: skip the hot dog, skip the sugar soda and the beer, and take fuel that doesn't come with a meal attached. Diet soda or water alongside it. If you need something to chew, nuts or another low-sugar snack.

WHY THE SLUMP HAPPENS

What can help me play better golf late in a round?

Late-round shots are rarely lost to a swing that suddenly broke. They're lost to judgement: the wrong club, the rushed read, the hero shot you wouldn't have tried on the fourth.

That's the part with human research behind it. Veech Ketone Ester is a food, not a dietary supplement and not a stimulant — it contains no caffeine. In trials, athletes taking it held their executive function and task-switching after exhausting exercise and across ultra-endurance efforts, where control groups slipped. None of those trials were in golfers, which is why we ask you to test it rather than take our word for it.

SEE WHAT WAS MEASURED

When should I use VKE during a round?

Your first time, wait until the fourth or fifth hole so you have a baseline for the day and can actually feel the difference. Do that once, ideally in a practice round, and experiment over a few rounds before you use it in a high-stakes match.

Every round after that, start at warmup or the first tee, then take it again every 6 to 9 holes — roughly 90 to 120 minutes apart — as focus and energy start to fade. Go by the clock and by feel, not by the hole number; slow play will scramble the math.

THE GOLF PROTOCOL

Can VKE help me recover for another round tomorrow?

That's where some of the strongest research sits, though it was done in endurance athletes rather than golfers. After a deliberately hard training day, athletes taking the ketone monoester after exercise and before sleep had better sleep efficiency, and the usual post-exercise drop in REM sleep was counteracted.

Thirty-six holes, a three-day member-guest or a tournament week is a real training load whether or not you call it one. Take one after the round, especially when you're out of game shape.

SLEEP AFTER HARD TRAINING

Will Veech Ketone Ester make me a better golfer?

It won't fix your swing. It helps you play the golf you're capable of.

The research is on judgement and focus under fatigue, alertness late in long efforts, and recovery. Golf spends all three. What it can't do is change your mechanics — a slice on the range is a slice on the course.

That's also why the better player notices it more. If your misses are mental — the wrong club, the rushed putt, the back-nine drift — there's more to recover. If your misses are technical, see your pro.

What does it feel like?

Golfers describe it as clear, calm and alert — not wired. Enhanced feel and touch is the most common report, followed by steady energy through the back nine and a freer turn.

It contains no caffeine and is not a stimulant. It's a fuel: D-BHB delivered directly, without digestion. Most people notice it within 20–30 minutes.

Is “calm but alert” proven?

“Clear, calm and alert” is what golfers report feeling. It isn't a proven trial outcome, and we won't pretend otherwise.

What was measured: in one small EEG study, a single dose increased resting alpha rhythm in all ten participants an hour later and raised visual cortical responsiveness about 17%. Ten people, no placebo arm. The authors describe increased cortical responsiveness — not relaxation. Separately, VKE preserved executive function and task-switching after exhausting exercise and under mental fatigue, and maintained alertness across an ultra-endurance effort.

What hasn't been shown: an increase in gamma activity from a ketone ester in humans, or any of this measured in golfers. We say what's measured and let you test the rest.

Should I take it before the first tee?

Not the first time. Play four or five holes on your own steam so you have a baseline for the day, then take it — that's a test, done once, ideally in a practice round. Every round after that, start at warmup or the first tee and take it again every 6 to 9 holes as focus and energy fade.

THE GOLF PROTOCOL

Can I still have a beer?

You can do whatever you like — but the protocol says no alcohol and no sugar soda through the round, because both work against the steady-energy, clear-head effect you're paying for. Diet soda or water instead. If a drink is part of the day, Hard Ketones is our sister brand. Real Buzz. No Booze.

Why skip food at the turn?

The post-meal dip everyone knows from the office lands, on a golf course, right around holes eleven through fourteen. VKE gives you fuel without a meal attached. If you need something to chew, nuts or a low-sugar snack, and diet soda or water rather than sugar soda.

Is it allowed in competition?

Veech Ketone Ester is a food, not a drug and not a dietary supplement. It is not prohibited under WADA rules, and selected KetoneAid products are independently batch tested for substances prohibited under anti-doping rules. Check the rules of your specific tour or event and the current batch documentation for the product you intend to use.

How does the two-stroke guarantee work?

It's a money-back guarantee, not a research finding — no golf trial has measured a two-stroke improvement. Follow the protocols for a few rounds and compare against your handicap or your typical play. Don't see an improvement? Text us and we'll refund your order.

Think of the refund as your free mulligan. We just ask for one shot at troubleshooting how you're taking it first, because timing and use matter with VKE. If it still isn't for you, the refund stands. One claim per customer; see the guarantee terms.

Which KetoneAid format should I carry?

All three are the same Veech Ketone Ester at different dilutions, so the choice is about concentration, taste and how you want to dose.

Ke4 is 50% and carries 30g per bottle — the most ester in the fewest bottles, and the most potent taste. Ke2 is 25% with 25g per bottle — the same Veech Ketone Ester, more diluted and easier to drink. The Ketone Shot is 8% with 5g per bottle, ready to drink with nothing to measure.
